How are the funds handled?

90% of the funds stay locally to support peace literacy programs that help Miami Valley better thrive. This year’s major walk funds recipient is the Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (MVUUF) located in Washington Township. On a regular basis, MVUUF offers a variety of programs for all ages and collaborates with several local peace partners to assist in programs, all of which offer the knowledge and skills for living peaceably. A Peace Hero is an everyday person who accepts risk and succeeds in making the world a less violent and more just place.

who is your peace hero?

Young people and all of us need peace heroes to remind us of the good every person can contribute to making the world a better place.  Select a Peace Hero from our online Gallery or use our Peace Hero Selection Form to add a new hero to the gallery. We will create a custom Peace Hero Card for you to share with your friends and neighbors.

Dayton Strong through Community Peacebuilding

How we create a community culture of peace is evolving.  Peace building is more effective at the community level where needs are known and solutions come from collaboration and cooperation between all sectors of society: the arts, education, environment, business, safety and security, recreation, faith-based, service, wellness, and government.
